In collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Nanomerics recently hosted an industry site visit for the participants of the Broadening Horizons in the Chemical Sciences programme. This was the third annual visit since the programme's launch in 2022. This initiative was launched to promote diversity and inclusion in the industrial chemistry sector; providing opportunities and maximising prospects for talented individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds. It aims to inspire and guide young scientists as they navigate their future careers in the chemical sciences.
The visit welcomed a curious and engaged group of participants, providing them with insights into the pharmaceutical industry and cutting-edge research practices. Attendees had the opportunity to explore Nanomerics’ state-of-the-art facilities and engage in interactive sessions with our leaders and scientists. Participants gained first-hand experience of company’s work in the nanomedicine field.
Feedback from participants demonstrated that the visit was highly insightful and inspiring, reinforcing their passion for science and their desire for research careers. As a dedicated industry partner, Nanomerics is committed to fostering the next generation of chemists and offering them insights into the practical applications of chemistry research in the pharmaceutical sector. Nanomerics is also very honoured to support young scientists in their career journeys through company level internships. Nanomerics’ interns actively engage in innovative research and development projects; all aimed at creating new medicines that address the unmet medical needs of various patient populations.
